We are so grateful to all of you who can make it to our wedding for investing the time and money needed to come and join our special day. That’s the greatest gift you could give. A lot of you are coming from far away and need to pay for travel and accommodation already – please do not feel any obligation to give us anything else.

Wir sind euch allen, die zu unserer Hochzeit kommen können, so dankbar, dass ihr Zeit und Geld investiert, um an unserem besonderen Tag dabei zu sein. Das ist wirklich das schönste Geschenk, das ihr uns machen könnt. Viele von euch kommen von weit weg und müssen schon für die Reise und Unterkunft zahlen – bitte fühlt euch nicht dazu verpflichtet, uns noch etwas anderes zu schenken.

🇬🇧 We haven’t picked out specific items we want yet because we don’t have the headspace for that before the wedding, and we’d rather do this in peace and quiet afterwards. But if you give money towards one of the things above, we will make sure we spend it for that purpose 🙂
We are using a UK based service called Collctiv for financial gifts. Why? It’s the easiest option we found to collect money from the UK and Germany at the same time and avoid fees. If you select “Don’t support Collctiv” and give in £s, there are no fees. If you give from a Euro account, you will still give in £s but the only fees you should have are any your bank charges for spending in foreign currencies – the same as using your card on holiday outside of the eurozone. In our experience, these are low to non-existant.
🇩🇪 Wir haben noch keine bestimmten Geschenke ausgewählt, weil wir lieber nach der Hochzeit in Ruhe aussuchen möchten. Aber wir beabsichtigen das Geld nur für den jeweiligen Zweck zu verwenden 🙂
Wir nutzen den Service “Collctiv” aus England für unseren Geschenketisch. Warum? Es war die einfachste Option, die wir gefunden haben, um Geld aus Deutschland und England einzusammeln und Gebühren zu vermeiden. Wenn ihr “Don’t support Collctiv” auswählt und in Pfund überweist, gibt es keine Gebühren. Wenn ihr von einem Euro Konto überweist, wird es dennoch in Pfund überwiesen, aber die einzigen Gebühren sollten die eurer Bank für Ausgaben in ausländischer Währung sein – so wie wenn ihr eure Karte im Urlaub außerhalb der Eurozone benutzt. Unserer Erfahrung nach sind diese sehr gering bzw. nicht vorhanden.
