Travel & Stay

We are grateful to the many of you who are coming from far away to spend the day with us.

In case you’re wondering how best to get here, where to stay, or if it’s worth extending your visit to see more of Leipzig (spoiler: it is), check out our recommendations below!

Getting Here / Getting Around

Plane

  • Leipzig/Halle Airport (LEJ)
  • Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER)
  • Frankfurt International Airport (FRA)
  • Prague Airpot (PRG)

There are no direct flights from the UK to Leipzig. But we recommend flying to BER and catching a ~1.5hr train, or a stopover flight via Brussels or Frankfurt to LEJ. Train connections from FRA or PRG also work, and will take about 3.5 – 4 hrs.

  • Leipzig Hauptbahnhof

The most sustainable option ;)… hop on the Eurostar from London to Brussels, then catch a train to Leipzig.

Flying? Take the S5 from Leipzig Airport or an ICE from Berlin Hauptbahnhof to Leipzig Hauptbahnhof.

Train

Public Transport

Buses, trams and S-Bahn (trains) are frequent and fairly reliable.
The Leipzig MOVE app lets you search for connections and book tickets but you can also buy tickets at the station or on the tram/bus. S-Bahn tickets you need to buy before you board.

To get to Leipzig English Church (aka Andreasgemeinde) for the ceremony, take the tram to Karl-Liebknecht-/Kurt-Eisner-Str. The closest stop to Philippus is Karl-Heine-/Merseburger Str. Get there by tram (1 transfer required).

Accommodation

We have reserved a limited number of rooms for 19th-21st September in the hotel in our reception venue for a fixed price. If you’re interested, do contact us for the details and our reference code!

This is a contactless check in and cheap hotel option a 10 minute walk away from the reception venue.

These are just two options! Many other hotel and airbnb options are available 🛏️
